Here are some highlights from the tour.

Day 1 - Let's head off!

Perth – Bindoon – New Norcia (Tour of historic monasteries/churches) – Dalwallinu Overnight

Today we have a leisurely trip through the Swan Valley from PERTH to the orchard area of Bindoon, and then on to the Monastic town of New Norcia, established by the Benedictine Monks in their outreach to the Aboriginal people in the name of Christianity. A tour of this area shows us some magnificent architecture of the period and some of the history involved. After the tour and lunch, we will wend our way to Dalwallinu for our first night.

Day 2: Dalwallinu – Payne's Find – Mt Magnet – Cue – Nallan Station

This morning we make our way through Payne's Find to the old mining towns of Mt Magnet and Cue visiting a stamp battery and hopefully finding some lovely old buildings and wildflowers along the way, to our overnight stay at a working sheep station. Maybe either a barbeque dinner or home-cooked meal with the night in the shearers' quarters.

Day 3: Nallan Station – Meekatharra – Mount Augustus

An easy day today as we make our way to Meekatharra enroute to Mt Augustus -- the world's largest monocline.

Day 4: Tour of Mount Augustus National Park and Aboriginal Art

Day 5: Mount Augustus - Dooley Downs – Ashburton Downs– Tom Price

A little like the Leyland Brothers today as we wind our way through station country in the Gascoyne region to the iron ore mining town of Tom Price.

Day 6: Tom Price (Iron Ore mine tour) - Karajini National Park (Scenic Gorges of Ranges)- Auski

An interesting and informative tour into iron ore mining to start our day, before making our way into the beautiful Karajini National Park, visiting Mt Bruce, Hamersley Gorge and the old mining town of Wittenoom in the Hamersley Ranges, with magnificent scenery abounding through the gorge country.

Day 7: Auski – Karajini National Park – Beautiful Gorges - Auski

Today we have the opportunity of viewing some of the most remarkable scenery and hopefully enjoy the exercise, as we endeavour to walk some of these magnificent gorges before returning to the very interesting and informative visitors centre. (Even if you only enjoy the ice creams, it's worth it), and back to Auski for the night.

Day 8: Auski – Woodstock – Hillside – Marble Bar – Port Hedland

Today we travel again over varying terrain to enable us to view the magnificent Jasper Bar, from which the hottest town in W.A. (Marble Bar) derives its name. A few more local attractions before wending our way through rugged countryside to the port town of Port Hedland, home of the big ships.

Day 9: Port Hedland – Whim Creek – Harding River Dam – Dampier

Off again on a shorter and easier day, but still with many things to see, such as the unique Whim Creek Pub and the Harding River Dam, before heading into the original mining town with port facilities for Hamersley Iron and our ‘home' for the next three nights.

Day 10: Dampier – Millstream Chichester National Park – Dampier

A beautiful day touring the Millstream Chichester National Park with its natural pools and oasis.

Day 11: Dampier – Wickham (wharf tour of loading facilities) – Cossack – Point Samson - Burrup Peninsula – back to Dampier

This morning we travel to Wickham to see the loading facilities for iron ore at the local wharf.
Then on to the old historical town of Cossack, and Port Sampson before making our way towards ‘home’ via the Burrup Peninsula, home of our natural gas installation.

Day 12: Dampier – Fortescue – Nanutarra – Exmouth

This leg is probably our hardest day as we travel through station country over the Fortescue River to Nanutarra Road House for our luncheon stop. Then onwards, ever onwards, until we turn back towards the coast, and to Exmouth.

Day 13: Exmouth – Yardie Creek – Charles Knife & Shot Hols Canyons – Exmouth

Today we explore the wonders of Yardie Creek and discover some of the history involved in the area, and wonder at the views of Charles Knife & Shot Hole Canyons. These canyon trails are the result of oil and gas exploration teams.

Day 14: Exmouth – Coral Bay (Sub-Sea Explorer Cruise) – Minilya – Carnarvon

A quick start today as we head off to enjoy the beautiful coral of Coral Bay, with a cruise on the Sub-Sea Explorer. Then in the afternoon, we make our way back to the main North West Coastal Highway, and on to Carnarvon.

Day 15: Carnarvon – Overlander – Stromatolites – Old Telegraph Station – Shell Beach – Eagle Bluff – Sunset Cruise - Denham

Away south again this morning on an easy run to enable us to see some very unique features of the region, such as the Stromatalites - one of the oldest living organisms known to man - the old Telegraph Station, and Shell Beach, one of only two of its kind in the world. This is a beach of solid sheels. On to Eagle Bluff, where we may be fortunate enough to see some of the lovely Sea Eagles and/or some of our magnificent Wedge-tailed Eagles. Then onto Monkey Mia for a beautiful Sunset cruise aboard the Shotover catamaran then ‘home’ for the evening, and a special dinner before curling up for a well- earned sleep.

Day 16: Denham – Monkey Mia Dolphins – fly to Kalbarri along coastal cliffs, and the Murchison River Gorges

Today is a very relaxing one for you with the opportunity of seeing the dolphins of Monkey Mia, enjoying a wonderful dolphin cruise in the morning, followed by an unforgettable flight to Kalbarri with lots of magnificent scenery, and later in the afternoon a visit to some of the coastal cliffs at Kalbarri.

Day 17: Kalbarri Coastal Gorges – Port Gregory – Northampton – Geraldton – Dongara – Port Denison – Mingenew – Coalseam National Park – Mullewa

Off along the coast to start our day with some views of these lovely coastal gorges as we head through to the old convict area of Port Gregory. Then to the old mining, and now wheat belt town, of Northampton, and to the City of Geraldton. If you are very good, maybe a little free time for some shopping before we head off again to the twin towns of Dongara and Port Dennison. Back to the Midlands Road and on to Mingenew. After that, we drive into the Coalseam National Park, hopefully for a display of our beautiful wildflowers to further complement those we should have seen already. On to our overnight accommodation at Mullewa.

Day 18: Mullewa – Tardun – Canna – Morawa – Three Springs – Carnamah – Moora

Today, if Mother Nature is kind to us, Wildflowers WILDFLOWERS and more WILDFLOWERS!

Day 19 (home sweet home): Moora – Badgingarra – Cervantes – Pinnacles Desert – Perth

The final day in our exciting, and I hope, very enjoyable tour, through just a small portion of Western Australia, as we make our way through more flowers
To Badgingarra and on to Cervantes, and the magnificent Pinnacles Dessert before making our way back to Perth.
